About the Show

Canal Street Art Gallery presents a Represented Artist Spotlight: PAINTING CANAL STREET showing watercolor paintings by Jean Cannon and oil paintings by Nancy Fitz-Rapalje with a common subject: views of Canal Street and of the Canal, in Bellows Falls, Vermont! This spotlight is on view January 27th through February 27th. Explore in person on any Wednesday to Saturday, 11-5PM. Parties of two at a time please.

Take part in celebrating with the artists, and in sharing their process and experience while exploring this collection of amazing artworks from such a creative region. This collection of eleven artworks featured in PAINTING CANAL STREET is especially meaningful to all those who feel a connection to this beautiful and real streetscape along North America's oldest canal (1790’s). The landscape artworks that both artists have in the show illustrate the gentle ruggedness of this old mill-town steeped with countless architectural detail and history. There you can see how the art is made and where its inspiration is turned into creative expression. The CSAG has provided a centralized location on Canal Street in Bellows Falls where, today, 79 local and regional artists have had the opportunity to exhibit over 1,000 original artworks in the last twelve months!
